The Character Motivation.!
The character motivation in the story is
Jill's pursuit of perfection. It is partially driven
by Jill's desire to show her ex-boyfriend that
her perfectionism is a good thing and that
overall she is a better person than him. The
thought of him pushes her to do her best to
prove him wrong and do things perfectly.
Also if things aren't exact it drives her crazy
and she has to fix them well as she can. This
pursuit of perfection is the character
motivation that drives Jill's actions through
the story.

Connection #1.!
One connection to Pancakes can be made by the novel Perfect by Natasha Friend. In the book Perfect the main character, Isabelle, has an eating disorder. She is always comparing herself to others and saying how fat she is compared to them. She will physically make herself throw up to try to lose weight and try to be as small as the most popular girl at her school, Ashley. Isabelle's desire to be perfect in an imperfect world is unrealistic. It is similar to Jill's desire to be perfect. They both want to be perfect and the best they can be.
Connection #2.!
A connection of the character motivation can be made through the show "Phineas and Ferb" yet again. In the show, Candace is always trying to prove she is right and to her mother that she is not crazy. She often goes to crazy extremes to prove she is not and they fail making her look as even more of a crazy person. This is similar to Pancakes because both of the characters want to prove that they are right and often do not realize they look worse from trying to do so.
